Flatbed Towing
Flatbed or Rollback tow trucks are one of the most commonly used tow trucks out there. This type of tow truck is ideal for towing four-wheel drive (4x4) and all-wheel drive (AWD)vehicles. Most flatbed tow trucks are capable of towing more than one vehicle at a time and able to carry heavy equipment. A common drawback is the amount of space needed to perform a tow service. Also, it will not fit in parking garages and is harder to maneuver in parking lots compared to a wheel-lift tow truck.
Wheel-lift Towing
Wheel-lift tow trucks are one of the most easiest and versatile ways of getting a vehicle towed. They work by picking up the vehicle by its tires from either the front or rear.
Wheel-lifts are typically smaller than a flatbed making it a better option for towing between cars in a parking lot or parking garage. With the use of special dollies they are also able to perform towing services for all-wheel drive and four-wheel drive vehicles.
Motorcycle Towing
A motorcycle can be towed on either a flatbed or wheel-lift tow truck. With the appropriate equipment the motorcycle can be securely tied down to the truck's flatbed or wheel-lift's boom.
